History:
The Solitaire was one of a number of aircraft designed by Colin Winton and produced by Winton Aircraft of Coomera, QLD for the ultra-light market, production of aircraft by the Company commencing in about 1976. The Solitaire was a mid-wing pusher type aircraft which could be fitted with a variety of engines, particularly the Volkswagen conversion of 1400 cc. The fuselage was of fibreglass and could be removed for maintenance. The cantilever wing could be unbolted for trailering and storage.
