History:
The Skeeter Junior was designed and built by ex-South African Francois van Teijlingen who for many years had an interest in helicopters and gyrocopters, building three Bensen Gyrocopters and owning a Scorpion and a Brantly B-2 for a period. This design was a single-seat lightweight, a proof of concept example being constructed with a mild-steel airframe. This was successfully completed and a prototype was built using aircraft grade chrome moly, being powered by a 100 kw (135-hp) Yamaha three-cylinder converted snowmobile engine. The prototype VH-ZOL (c/n 001) was completed in 2010, the design being aimed at the mustering industry.
