History:
Darcy Shipman lived in Glenreagh, NSW and built a light aircraft similar in appearance to a de Havilland DH.53, being a low-wing monoplane fitted with a modified Henderson motor-cycle engine. It was taken to Grafton for testing and flew in August 1937. On 5 September that year it had an engine failure and crashed. Shipman then commenced construction of another aircraft using the wing of the earlier machine and after completion it was flown from a strip at Glenreagh. The construction of another aircraft was commenced named the Sportair and it was also flown. Later reports indicate the two surviving aircraft were sold to operators in western NSW and are thought to have been still extant in 1966.
