History:
The LA-122 Preceptor is an Australian designed two-seat twin-engine training monoplane designed by the Laureate Aircraft Company. Aimed to provide a twin-engine flight trainer, the aircraft was designed to be fitted with two Austrian-built 75-kw (100-hp) Rotax 912F engines driving constant-speed propellers. It was to be fitted with a retractable undercarriage, leading edge slats, and a cabin 1.4 m (4 ft 8 in) wide. It was expected to have operating costs similar to a single-engine Cessna 172. In 1998 a full-scale mock-up of the aircraft was built and shown to the media carrying the registration VH-LCY.
However, nothing further has been heard about a prototype being completed and flown.
