History:
A variant of the AAK Hornet was the AG utility model with a high lift wing extended in span to 9 m (29 ft 6 in) which could be used in the utility role, or could be fitted with tanks, containers, seed sprayers etc. This model had a max take-off weight of 800 kg (1,764 lb), engines up to 134 kw (180 hp) could be installed and fuel capacity was increased to 120 litres (26.4 Imp gals). Eventually named the Bushman 750, and designed by Ole Hartmann, it has been built in the Australian Aircraft Kits facility at Taree, NSW and had tandem seating, a roomy cabin, 270 degrees vision and high ground clearance for operations from uneven landing surfaces. It had good short and rough field capability and could be fitted with large low-pressure tyres for use from un-prepared surfaces. The prototype was completed in 2010 and was powered by a Rotax 914 engine.
The Bushman was aimed at the market for mustering, prospecting, pipeline, bore and fence inspection, property management, aerial baiting, hunting and fishing. One of the first completed was Bushman VH-CVH (c/n H024) to George Hacon of Mt Isa, QLD on 2 May 2012, this aircraft being fitted with a Lycoming O-360 engine.
