History:
The Dynamic was an advanced light-weight light aircraft seating two side-by-side. Conceived in 1996, series production commenced in 2000 and by 2005 more than 100 had been delivered to 19 countries.
The aircraft used advanced construction techniques, including sandwich shells and carbon fibre. The WT-9 was usually powered by a 60 kw (80 hp) Rotax 912UL engine but the 75 kw (100 hp) Rotax 912ULS engine driving a German Rospeller three-blade propeller fitted with a governor was available as an option. It had two carburettors, electric starter, double ignition, stainless steel exhaust and a variety of propeller options, including electrically controlled variable pitch. The wings outboard of the retractable undercarriage were attached similar to gliders and could be removed quickly for storage. The type had a glider hook installed and in Europe was certified to tow gliders up to a weight of 525 kg (1,157 lb).
The fuselage consisted of composite sandwich shells, where carbon fibre was used, thus allowing high strength and rigidity. Control was via a control column fitted on both sides. It could be supplied with a fixed tricycle undercarriage, and was also available in kit form.
First of the type completed in this region was ZK-DYN (c/n DY038/2003) registered to Drake Aviation Ltd of Rangiora on 21 January 2004, the local distributor for the type. This aircraft had been test flown after completion at Prievidza in Slovakia with the test registration OM-AERO and was then dismantled and shipped from Hamburg.
First of the type registered in Australia was a WT-9 Dynamic Speed-T VH-JRR (c/n DY128/2006) at Lilydale, VIC in June 2006.
Following the introduction of LSA Regulations in various parts of the world Aerospool announced the development of the type to meet them, receiving certification by EASA still with the Rotax 912 series of engines, but stating it was looking at the Edge 120 engine and the Rotax 915 unit f0r installation as an option.
