History:
The Skylark was an ultralight aircraft developed by Mr Ronald Lang of Officer, VIC in the early 1980s. Mr Lang also designed and developed an engine known as the Skylark for use in his and other ultralight aircraft. It is said that some of the parts used were from the 160-cc Victa motor-mower engine of the time. The aircraft was produced in small numbers at the designer’s premises at Officer, VIC in the mid-1980s.
The Skylark had double-surface wings and leading and trailing edge spars made of aluminium tube, which had compression struts diagonally braced with cables and formed tube ribs riveted to the spars. The machine was available in kit form and it was said to be able to be able to be built in 30 hours.
