History:
These ultralights were two variants of the one design produced by Ultralight Aircraft Industries Pty Ltd of Goolwa, SA. The Wombat was a single-seater with a Fuji Robin 440 engine with a wingspan of 8.41 m (27 ft 6in); length 4.7 m (15 ft 4 in); weight 150 kg (330 lb); and cruising speed of 93 km/h (58 mph). The Wombat was available in two basic versions, being fitted with a tricycle undercarriage, whereas the Bunyip had a tail wheel. Construction was of aluminium structure with Dacron covering. A variety of engines could be installed and at one stage the Huntington Field engine from the United Kingdom was considered.
