History:
The Hornet Sport was produced by Australian Aircraft Kits, a Company set up by Ole Hartmann at Taree, NSW. It was a development aircraft for a planned future single-seat high-performance sporting aircraft constructed from composites. It appears two examples were built, and they have attended a number of aviation events on Australias east coast together. The second prototype was noted at NATFLY at Narromine at Easter 2006 in an overall yellow colour scheme. It was registered under Recreational Aviation Australia (RAA) Regulations and was a low-wing monoplane with a tailwheel undercarriage.
The latter aircraft was registered as 19-4061 (c/n A-003) on 6 February 2004 but was withdrawn from service on 8 February 2010.
