History:
Concept Air was based in Townsville, QLD and, in addition to producing its own designed aircraft, was involved in the sale of ultralight aircraft. One example was a strut-braced two-seat high-wing monoplane with a tricycle undercarriage which was fitted with a Subaru EA-81 engine with a direct drive and electric flaps, being tested as 19-4806 (c/ n H20001). Tests revealed it needed a suitable reduction drive.
In 2007 it was offered for sale unfinished. This aircraft was described on the Recreation Aviation Australia Register as a Fred Brooks fixed high-wing monoplane 19-4806 (c/n H20001) and was first registered on 8 November 2006. It has also been described as the Brooks Casey Preditor and was withdrawn from use on 31 October 2008.
The Company has also produced a two-seat low-wing composite construction fixed tricycle undercarriage ultralight, also fitted with a Subaru EA-81 series engine. This machine had a built-in root-sector which gave the fuselage a width of 2.43 m (8 ft) at the root. The flaps were built-in, and the wings were each 2.74 m (9 ft) long making a total of 8.22 m (27 ft), permitting the aircraft to be disassembled for storage or movement by trailer. It was also offered for sale incomplete.
A further aircraft produced was a single-seat light aircraft with a low wing built to represent a scaled-down Hawker Hurricane. This has been described as the Concept Sports Fighter Look-Alike, and also as the Concept Sports Fighter Kittyhawk Replica, and was registered as 19-4255 (c/n CA001) from 27 January 2005 to 27 January 2006 on the RAA register. It is not known if it was completed and flown.
