History:
The Dova Skylark was one of the new light aircraft designed to meet United States Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) requirements. It was designed in Canada and manufactured in the Czech Republic. It was a two-seat, side-by-side, all metal low-wing wing monoplane able to withstand 7G. Power plant was the Rotax 912ULS unit of 1,352 cc capacity driving through a 1:2.43 reduction gear. The aircraft was fitted with a Kasper three-blade in-flight adjustable propeller. The Skylark used 18 litres (3.95 Imp gals) of fuel per hour from two 45 litre (9.9 Imp gal) wing tanks and could use mogas or avgas.
The first of the type was imported by the Australian Distributor, making its debut at the May 2007 Bundaberg, QLD Air Show, this aircraft 24-5123 (c/n DV1 05/10 – ex C-IDAK) being first flown at Redcliffe, QLD on 1 August 2007. Subsequently it was used as a demonstrator.
