History:
The Evektor Harmony was a sister aircraft to the Sportstar series (marketed in the United Kingdom as the Eurostar) and shared many of the design features of that type. On its introduction to the market it was voted the aircraft of the year in 2003 by the United Kingdom Flyer Magazine. It was an all-metal low-wing monoplane with a tricycle undercarriage and was aimed at the two-seat sport touring aircraft market. It was fully equipped for IFR flying and was available in the trainer role.
The Harmony was powered by a General Aviation certified variant of the Rotax 912S liquid-and -ir-cooled four stroke engine and had full dual controls. The bubble canopy hinged at the front. There was a luggage compartment behind the two seats which was capable of taking up to 15 kg (33 lb).
The Harmony, Eurostar and Sportstar series has been exported from the Czech Republic to more than 23 countries.
The type has proven popular in Australasia, being imported by Silverwings Aviation in Queensland. The Harmony was designed to meet JAR-VLA regulations and met the 575 kg (1,268 lb) max all-up weight.
First of the Harmony series seen in this region became ZK-CGM (c/n 20111415) to Aeroflight Aviation Ltd of Cust, New Zealand in February 2012 , before being followed in Australia by VH-EVU (c/n 20121515) on 22 March to Air Warrnambool in Victoria.
