History:
The Fisher FP-404 was one of a series of ultralight aircraft produced by Fisher Flying Products of Edgeley, North Dakota in the United States. It was introduced to the market in 1984 as a single-seat open-cockpit biplane aimed at the sport pilot and was of wood and fabric construction, sharing some of the characteristics of the Company’s design known as the Classic.
The FP-404 was available in the Experimental category in which it could be fitted with either the Rotax 447 or 503 engine. It had detachable wings for trailering or storage.
More than 300 examples have been built around the world. Examples have been completed in Australia and New Zealand, one being registered ZK-JIY (c/n 4178).
