History:
Introduced to the market in 1998, the Easy Eagle light biplane was designed by Ronald Grosso, who initially supplied plans to interested builders, eventually the rights being obtained to supply plans by Cottage Grove of Wisconsin, and in later times it was marketed by Great Plains Aircraft Supply Company. It was available as a plans-built aircraft.
The fuselage was of steel tube construction with fabric covering. The wing was all-wood construction. The one piece aluminium undercarriage was the same as that installed on the Monnett Sonerai, which was also marketed by Great Plains. In later times Wicks Aircraft and Motorsports has provided a series of five kits to build the Easy Eagle.
The type was produced in two models, the single-seat Easy Eagle and the two seat Easy Eagle II, the latter having engines in the 48 kw to 90 kw (65 hp to 120 hp) range, the Lycoming O-235 of 84 kw (112 hp) being the most fitted.
First of the type registered in Australia became 19-7358 on 22 December 2009 under Recreational Aviation Australia (RAA) Regulations.
