History:
This aircraft was noted at an air-show at Aero Pelican, Belmont, NSW in September 1964. The machine was unfinished and was said to have been submitted to the Army Inventions Commission in 1943. It was said that “until recently the only one of its kind in the world.” It was described as having: (1) far greater lift for the wing area – allows short take-off and landing – short runways. (2) reduced drag-lift ratio. (3) almost impossible to stall under normal flying conditions. (4) angle of incidence adjustable during flight. (5) flight control extremely simple. (6) short wingspan allows greater strength/weight ratio of wings. (7) even distribution of lifting surfaces allows greater strength/weight ratio of fuselage. (8) very cheap to manufacture. The machine on show was said to be a “test model only designed to test wings and new control system. Patent applied for”. It is not believed a full-scale aircraft was ever completed.
