History:
Mr Terrence Kronk was well known in aviation circles as the designer and builder of scale replicas of World War II aircraft, amongst his aircraft being a Supermarine Spitfire with a five-litre Chevrolet V-8 engine, a Scale Focke Wulf FW-190 with a Venedenyev M-14P engine, and an 80per cent scale replica of a North American P-51K Mustang with a five-litre converted Chevrolet engine in which, tragically, he lost his life in a crash.
One of his projects, which was in the early stages at the time of his demise, was an 80 per cent scale replica of a de Havilland Mosquito for which two V-12 Ranger inverted air-cooled engine had been obtained and which were being readied for the project. It is not known at this stage just how far the project had gone when the Mustang crashed.
