History:
M-Squared was founded in 1996 by Paul Mather to design and produce parts of existing ultralight aircraft. This proved successful and the company set out to build aircraft of its own design utilising the Rotax 912 four-stroke engine and able to accommodate two pilots and have a max take-off weight of 635 kg (1,400 lb). A number of designs were developed, including the Sport, Sprint 1000 and the Breese, the latter being a single-seater with a max take-off weight of 340 kg (750 lb), the Breese 2 having a max weight of 454 kg (1,000 lb). Development led to a model known as the ultra-X. Full Lotus Floats were available and stainless steel components were used in some aircraft. At least one example of the Sprint has been operated in Fiji as DQ-FSS (c/n 604).
