History:
The Melendez Firstar was a two-seat, low-wing monoplane with a tailwheel undercarriage built in the amateur built category. It was designed by Bernardo C Melendez Jr of Houston Texas. It was of all wood construction and the first of the type completed in Australia was built by Norman Edmunds of Kyneton, VIC, becoming VH-NMZ (c/n 10203) on 5 October 2011, this being one of the first of the type completed in the world. This aircraft was fitted with a Lycoming O-320-E2A engine driving a fixed-pitch wooden Brent Thompson propellor. Max take-off weight is 850 kg (1,874 lb).
