History:
Initially based in Sydney, Gary Morgan has been involved in the design of light aircraft for many years and this culminated in the design and production of the kit aircraft named the Cheetah, Cougar and Cheyenne. His company was initially known as Miranda Aircraft but later became Morgan Aeroworks based at Taree Airport. His earlier designs included the Gary Morgan J-2 and J-3 Solitaire, the latter becoming 10-0520 (c/n 2) on 21 July 1988 and was fitted with a Rotax 447 engine. The J-2 was fitted with a KFM engine and was built to meet ANO 95.10. It was flown for the first time at Holbrook, NSW in 1989 and was similar in appearance to the Sapphire.
