History:
Designed by the company Peter Nunn & Associates Pty Ltd of Fitzroy, North Victoria, the prototype PN-2 (VH-PII – c/n P-002) is an all-metal two-seat low-wing monoplane with a bubble canopy powered by a converted Mazda 13B rotary motor-car engine. Fitted with a fully retractable tricycle undercarriage, the homebuilt has a max speed of 296 km/h (184 mph). One reference states it was at some stage powered by a converted Subaru 2.5L conversion engine. The wing used a NACA 23012 aerofoil.
Although originally designed and built by Mr Nunn as a one-off design for his own use, a lot of interest has been shown in the design by amateur builders and proposals have been put in place to make plans available for construction by other builders. The aircraft was placed on the Civil Aircraft Register on 14 August 2000 but the registration was revoked on 6 July 2006. It is not known if the aircraft was completed or flown. By early 2008 the aircraft no longer appeared on the register, VH-PII being allocated to a glider.
