History:
The Pober Pixie was a single-seat light parasol wing sporting aircraft, the design of which began in January 1974, the prototype making its first flight some six months later. Designed by Paul Poberezney, the plans were marketed through the American Experimental Aircraft Association. Construction was of welded steel tube fuselage and the wing was of wooden construction, the aircraft overall being covered with fabric. A small number were built in this region in the 1970s and these were usually powered by a converted Volkswagen four-cylinder air-cooled engine. A new example was completed and registered in New Zealand in mid-2009, becoming ZK-PXI (c/n MFS-1) to its owner at Kaiapoi.
