History:
The SP-30 is a two-seat light sporting and training aircraft manufactured in Russia by Spectr Aero and is described as an upgrade and development of the Zenair CH-701 aircraft series with changes aimed at improving its performance and ability to meet requirements in the light aviation field in Russia. It has a single Austrian-built Rotax 912 engine and is engineered on the basis of standard JAR-VLA regulations.
It is aimed at the pilot training market, agricultural type work on farms (ie spraying fields for weeds, pests, insects, aerial sowing), air patrol and surveillance. It is suitable for cross country work and operations from short strips, being able to be fitted with spraying equipment. The wing has been reinforced, the wing having 12 wing ribs, and the chassis and fuselage have been reinforced. Changes have also been made in the areas of the empennage, stabilisator and keel, it being separated from the rudder. It comes in three models, Standard, farm-equipped and pilot training.
The aircraft is of metal and composite construction and is fully imported from Russia, the first example arriving for the Australian distributor in 2017.
