History:
Work on an 80 per cent scale all alloy scale replica of the Grumman F-8 Bearcat was commenced in the United States in about 2010, the aircraft to be fitted with a new 269-kw (360-hp) Vedeneyev M-14P radial engine driving a four-blade MT propeller. The late Terry Kronk imported the incomplete aircraft for completion and work commenced on it at his Emu Gully (Helidon Spa) in Queensland. However, it was not completed when Mr Kronk lost his life in his P-51D Mustang replica in November 2012.
The aircraft was sold to a new owner in 2014/2015. Work commenced on its completion and it has been noted undergoing completion in a hangar at Watts Bridge, QLD. The attached photograph is of the incomplete aircraft outside the workshop/hangar of Terry Kronk at Emu Gully.
