History:
Mr Mac McKenzie was a gyrocopter enthusiast on the north island of New Zealand and in about 2007 commenced the construction of a 70 percent replica of the Cierva C.30 gyrocopter, examples of the original full-scale machine being flown in a number of countries around the world in the 1930s, a few being imported to Australasia. This scale replica was built at Masterton and was powered by a 67 kw (90 hp) Subaru EA-81 four-cylinder horizontally-opposed air-cooled engine. By early 2008 the machine was on its undercarriage and was about to get its fuselage covered with fabric and the attachment of the rotor. It is not known to have flown.
