History:
The Pegasus E was an invention of a gyrocopter to be driven like a car. Two examples were first shown to the Australian public at the Avalon airshow in Victoria in March 2023.
The dual mode Pegasus E is powered by a Pegasus petrol and electric hybrid engine producing 120 kws and weighs 265 kgs (584 lbs).
Plans of the Melbourne-based distributor include an air taxi, a freight variant and an air ambulance. The distributor announced its object was to build a commercially-viable flying car.
When the machine lands, the main rotors fold automatically, and it is stated the transition between car and gyrocopter can be achieved in 3 seconds by operating a button. It is said that it is the world’s only true VTOL-capable, driveable flying car that could be parked in a garage.
